Profilers are a variant of wallwashers with a more aesthetic design that can be a great alternative to the increasingly obsolete wallwashers. They can also be a very interesting variant to LED strips since installation and start-up is easier.
1 How are these profilers installed?
First step
The first step of all is to know if we are going to opt for surface mounting or flush mounting. If we opt for the first, the assembly is carried out through a plate that we will fix to the ceiling and which is inside the product itself. If we opt for the second, we will have to make a hole of 85-95 mm in diameter to be able to embed it in the ceiling. Assembly is very simple since it is an imitation of downlights or ultra-thin plates.
Second step
- Connection of the 220 VAC version. If we opt for the 220 VAC version, the connection is based on the connection of the phase cables (brown cable) and neutral cables (blue cable) to those of our electrical installation. If we have done it correctly we will see how a warm white halo is produced instantly.
- Connection of the 24 VDC version. If we opt for the 24 VDC and DMX512 version, the connection can be made in two different types.
Third step
- 24 VDC version If we connect it directly to a 24 VDC source using the 24 VDC + and 24 VDC - cables, the profiler will begin to emit the light halo sequentially and we will not be able to control the sequence at any time.
- On the other hand, if what we want is to control the color sequence and manage it to our liking, we have to add a DMX512 controller to the 24 VDC source. The connection would be as follows, the 24 VDC + and 24 VDC - cables must go to the 24 VDC source as in the previous case. Additionally, the DMX + and DMX - cables must be connected to the DMX512 controller.
2 What are the real advantages and benefits of profilers?
The LED profilers They are truly innovative products, they provide great versatility. Led profilers have the possibility of being installed on the surface or recessed, in case we want a more open installation. In both cases the operation is the same. Led profilers produce an effect similar to that produced by an LED strip, with the advantage of being able to save the work of installing the LED strips. There are monochromatic and RGB models, and also models that combine both characteristics, obtaining RGB and white in the same product. The monochromatic models have a direct electrical supply, that is, they can be connected directly to the electrical network (230 volts alternating current) and the RGB models would require a 24 volt direct current power supply and can be controlled by DMX (12 volts DC). With Led profilers you can obtain a decorative effect that offers a colorful dynamic in rooms, hallways, windows, arches and multiple environments that require decorative lighting and where you want to highlight the frames, edges to give them surprising and original lighting.
