12VDC RGB LED Strips

12VDC RGB LED strips are the most versatile way to add color to any space: with a controller you can choose from millions of shades, create gradients or program dynamic effects. At GreenIce you'll find 12-volt RGB strips with SMD5050 chips in different protection ratings, ready to decorate interiors, furniture, facades or even pools.

Available 12VDC RGB strips

All the strips in this section come on 5-meter rolls and use the SMD5050 LED, which integrates all three colors (red, green and blue) in a single chip for smooth color mixing.

  • 150-LED RGB strip (30 LEDs/m): 36 W and 2,100 lm per roll, in an unprotected or IP33 version. Ideal for decorative indoor lighting.
  • 300-LED RGB strip (60 LEDs/m): 72 W and 4,200 lm per roll, with a higher LED density for a more continuous line of color. Available in IP33 and IP65, the latter also with a black PCB to blend into dark surfaces.
  • Submersible IP68 RGB strip: 72 W and 4,000 lm per roll, designed for installations in permanent contact with water, such as fountains, ponds or pools.

In this section you'll also find a pack of 4 72 W strips in 4200 K neutral white, for those who need white light instead of color.

Uses and applications

  • Home: ceiling coves, headboards, behind the TV or under cabinets.
  • Entertainment and hospitality: bars, pubs, nightclubs and color-changing store windows.
  • Outdoors: facades, pergolas and terraces with IP65 strips.
  • Water: pools, fountains and decorative aquariums with IP68 strips.

How to choose an RGB LED strip

LED density

30 LEDs/m for soft, ambient effects; 60 LEDs/m for a more intense, uniform line.

IP rating

IP33 or unprotected for dry indoor areas; IP65 for outdoor or damp areas; IP68 for submerged installations.

Controller

An RGB strip needs a controller to manage the colors. You can choose infrared, radio frequency, WiFi or Bluetooth remotes in our LED strip controllers.

Power supply

Add up the total wattage (36 W or 72 W per roll) and choose a 12V DC power supply with a margin of at least 20%.

Mounting

Installing the strip in an aluminum profile with a diffuser improves heat dissipation and color mixing.

Frequently asked questions

Can RGB strips be cut?

Yes, at the cut marks indicated on the strip itself. You'll then need 4-pin RGB connectors to join sections or power them.

What is the maximum length I can power from one end?

With 12 V strips, it's recommended not to exceed one 5 m roll per power feed point to avoid voltage drop.

At GreenIce we offer fast shipping, a 3-year warranty on GreenIce products and technical advice to design your color installation.
