Led Bathroom Ceiling Lights

LED bathroom ceiling lights are the most practical way to light a room where steam, splashes and temperature changes are part of daily life. At GreenIce we select surface-mounted ceiling lights with good moisture protection, low consumption and even light, so you can shave, do your makeup or simply relax under the right lighting.

Which ceiling lights work best in a bathroom

Not every ceiling light is suitable for a bathroom. These are the formats we recommend most from our range of surface-mounted LED ceiling lights:

  • IP65 waterproof ceiling lights: models such as the 15 W ceiling light with around 890 lumens, available in 2700 K and 4200 K, designed to withstand steam and water jets. They are the safest option if the light sits close to the shower.
  • IP65 ceiling lights with PIR sensor: 24 W versions with a motion detector that switch the light on when you walk in and off when you leave. Very handy in guest bathrooms or powder rooms used only occasionally.
  • Ceiling lights with adjustable color temperature: 10 W and 15 W IP65 models with a 3000-4000-6500 K selector, so you can choose between warm, relaxing light and cool, crisp light.
  • Decorative IP20 ceiling lights: only recommended in large, well-ventilated bathrooms, away from the shower or bathtub area.

The light each area of the bathroom needs

In a bathroom, it's best to combine general ceiling light with task lighting at the mirror. The ceiling light provides the general lighting: it should spread light without harsh shadows and avoid glare when you look up from the bathtub. For the sink, complement the ceiling light with LED bathroom mirrors or wall lights above the mirror that light your face from the front.

If your bathroom has no window, go for neutral light (4000 K) for a sense of cleanliness and space. In bathrooms with a bathtub or designed for relaxing, warm light (2700-3000 K) creates a cozier atmosphere.

How to choose an LED bathroom ceiling light

IP rating

This is the most important criterion. As a guide, look for at least IP44 for ceiling lights away from water and IP65 if the light is above the shower or heavily exposed to steam. The first digit indicates protection against dust and the second against water.

Wattage and lumens

For a small bathroom, a 12-15 W ceiling light (around 900-1200 lumens) is usually enough. In large bathrooms or those with high ceilings, go up to 18-24 W or combine several light points.

Color temperature and CRI

A good CRI shows skin tones naturally in the mirror.
