In Greenice we want more people to enjoy the savings they get with LED tubes.

T5 and T8 tubes measures

The LED T5 tubes and T8 are a type of cylindrical luminaire that spreads its light linear. The main differences between this type of tubes are basically two:

The first one is the type of cap you use. T5 tubes use a G5 type cap (the acronym G refers to the type of contact that would be by simple pressure, while number 5 refers to the separation between pins, which would be 5 mm). On the contrary, the T8 tubes use a G31 caps (the acronym G refers to the type of contact that would be by simple pressure, while the number 13 refers to the separation between pins, which would be 13 mm).

The second of them is the measure of the tubes themselves, being the t5 5 cm tubes smaller than the t8 tubes. This can be better appreciated in the following tables, which also shows the equivalences between fluorescent tubes and LED tubes.

T8 LED Tubes Measures

The measurements of the LED T8 tubes are standard, which makes the substitution simple and easy to identify by the client. The consumption difference between fluorescent tubes and LED tubes is 50% as can be seen in the table. As for the most common measures we can find are those of 600, 1200 and 1500 mm. Therefore, with the change of fluorescent to LED we save 50% in electricity consumption.

T5 LED TUBES MEASURES

As with the T8 tubes, the measures of this type of tubes are standard to facilitate the installation of them. How can the means be seen in the table are very similar to the t8 tubes but with a 5 cm deficit. In addition, the consumption of LED tubes is half than that of fluorescent tubes, so energy savings is more than guaranteed.

Main uses of LED t8 and T5 tubes

The most used tubes in most facilities are T8 tubes. This is because it provides a lot of lighting in little space (remember that the largest measures 1500 mm). Also due to its robustness and construction, the appropriate element for most facilities, whether industrial or residential.

On the other hand, the tubs with T5 cap, are more used in the places that we need a great contribution of light, but the measures are very tight. Therefore, they are mostly used in light appliques and places where spaces are very restrictive.
