Types of caps
Visual guide for all types of LED bulbs
Here we present all the existing bulbs.
Although most light bulbs and lamps wear quite common and easily identifiable caps, there are many other types of caps that it is very common to find in any house or local. In Greenice we present the most complete guide to identify them easily.

1 Type E thread cap
As possible thread cap alternatives, we have the following:
TO E14 cap
Mainly used in decoration lamps. They are as a rule of sailing type, drop or balloon and have this bushing for having relatively small powers. Used as decoration. They are mainly incandescent or compact fluorescent. |
C E40 cap
Thread cap for high powers of the bulbs. Mainly used in industrial bells and all types of outdoor lighting. It is its vast majority of high discharge bulbs (VSAP and HM). |
B E27 cap
Most common thread cap. Used in appliques, ceiling ceiling, even in exterior projectors or luminaries. Mainly they are incandescent, compact fluorescent, high discharge bulbs (VSAP and HM). |
B.1 E27 bushing for PAR30 and PAR38 bulbs
The type of E27 cap is the standardized in PAR30 and PAR38 bulbs that are mainly used in lane spotlights, built -in spotlights or even appliques. The number 30 and 38 affects both the diameter and the power of the bulb, the larger bulbs being in terms of size and consumption. |
2 Gason g
As possible g -type caps alternatives, we have the following:
TO G4 cap
2 PIN cap that works at 12VDC/Vac. The PINs are similar to small needles that are coupled to a small -sized portal. It is mostly halogen bulbs of reduced size and low consumptions that are coupled in Downlights, lane spotlights or built -in or even in small lamps. |
C G12 bushing
2 PIN cap that works directly at electric network (230VAC). The PINs are rounded and they are coupled to a small -sized portal. It is mostly halogen bulbs of reduced size and high consumptions that are coupled in Downlights, interior and exterior spotlights or even industrial or lighting luminaries. |
B G9 cap
2 PIN cap that works directly at electric network (230VAC). The PINs are rounded and they are coupled to a small -sized portal. It is mostly halogen bulbs of reduced size and low and media consumptions that are coupled in Downlights, lane spotlights or built -in or even in small lamps. |
3 GU/MR TYPE CASQUILLO
As possible gu/mr type cap alternatives, we have the following:
TO GU10 cap
Coats directly coupled to Red Eléctrica through a lamp. An alternative solution to the bulbs with a gu5.3 cap that work at 12VDC and need a transformer, to be able to save the additional consumption of it. Mainly they are halogen or dichroic halogen of different powers installed in recessed rings. They are installed in built -in hoops, spotlights, lane spotlights or even appliques. They appear following the development of LED technology. |
C GU5.3/MR16 cap
Most common pin cap that works at 12VDC. Mainly they are halogen or halogen dichroic of half powers. They are installed in built -in hoops, spotlights, lane spotlights or even appliques. |
B GU4/MR11 cap
Pin bushing that works at 12VDC. Normally the pants of the bulb are more together than in the case of the GU5.3 caused by the minor powers that provide this kind of bulb. Mainly they are halogen or dichroic halogen of low powers. They are installed in built -in hoops, spotlights, lane spotlights or even appliques. |
4 2/4 pin G24 caps
As possible Pin G24 caps, we have the following:
TO G24D cap
Casquillo that works directly to Red Eléctrica and is coupled thanks to the 2 PIN in diagonal that the bulb has. The number of its pin and disposition is related to the power of the bulb. They are mostly low consumption bulbs. Used in conventional downlights or even in interior and exterior projectors. |
B G24Q cap
Business that works directly to Red Electrica and is coupled thanks to the 4 PIN in diagonal that the bulb has. The number of its pin and disposition is related to the power of the bulb. They are mostly low consumption bulbs. Used in conventional Downlights, in interior and exterior projectors as well as in public lighting luminaires. |
5 R7S type r7 linear cap
As possible R7S type cap alternatives, we have the following:
TO R7S bushing
Linear cap that works directly with electric grid voltage (230VAC). Normally these types of caps usually have different lengths according to the total power that the bulb has. As a general rule, the lengths set for them are 78mm, 118mm, 138mm and 189mm according to power. These are linear halogen bulbs used mainly in Downlights, lane spotlights, projectors or even built -in outdoor spotlights. |
6 Type Ar111 linear cap
As possible Casquillo type alternatives, we have the following:
TO Casquillo AR111
Baskets with two tabs that hold the bulb and operates directly with electric network voltage (230Vac). In general, it is a bulb with a standardized diameter in 111mm. It is mostly incandescent bulbs and traditional halogen bulbs of lamps with a G53 bushing, mainly used in Downlights, appliques and especially lane and built -in spotlights. |
7 GX53 type linear cap
As possible GX53 type cap alternatives, we have the following:
TO GX53 cap
Basket with two morphology cylinders similar to the GU10 that hold the bulb and works directly with electric grid voltage (230VAC). In general, it is a bulb with a small diameter. They are mostly parabola halogen bulbs (wide reflection) and low consumption bulbs, mainly used in Downlights, appliques and especially lane and embedded spotlights. |
8 Linear LED tubes with two inputs. T5/T8 Type
As possible T5/T8 type caps for linear LED tubes, we have the following:
TO T5 cap
Busch with two pin, one at each end of the tube. It can operate at 12VDC/VAC, 24VDC/VAC or directly with electric network voltage (230VAC). This is the standard cap of the fluorescent tubes but with a diameter of 16mm and of lengths set at 600mm, 900mm, 1200mm and 1500mm. Mainly used in built -in screens, normal and stagnant strips or supports without any degree of protection. |
B T8 bushing
Busch with two pin, one at each end of the tube. It can operate at 12VDC/VAC, 24VDC/VAC or directly with electric network voltage (230VAC). This is the standard caps of the 26mm diameter fluorescent tubes and with fixed lengths of 600mm, 900mm, 1200mm and 1500mm. Mainly used in built -in screens, normal and stagnant strips or supports without any degree of protection. |
9 Linear LED tubes with an input. 2g11 type cap
As possible 2G11 caps for circular LED tubes, we have the following:
TO 2G11 bushing
Cap with 4 PIN distributed linearly and located at one end of the tube. It can operate at 12VDC/VAC, 24VDC/VAC or directly with electric network voltage (230VAC). This is the cap for fluorescent tubes or low consumption bulbs with a diameter of 38mm and with approximate lengths of 227mm, 322mm, 415mm and 535mm.
