  • Professional downlights: a 24 W, 2400-lumen model at 3000K with IP54 protection, and the Marcasite range for commercial installations.

Uses and applications

Low-wattage models (5.5–6 W) are perfect for hallways, bathrooms or as accent lighting; 13–17 W models for kitchens, bedrooms and living rooms; and 21–24 W models for shops, offices or high ceilings. The IP65 and IP54 versions let you install downlights near showers or under covered outdoor eaves.

How to choose a Philips downlight

Wattage and lumens

Choose the wattage based on ceiling height and the light you need: more lumens for work areas and fewer for relaxing spaces.

Color temperature

2700–3000K for warm ambiances at home; 4000K for kitchens, offices and shops.

IP rating

In bathrooms or covered outdoor areas, choose Dive (IP65) or an IP54 model.

Cut-out diameter and style

Measure the ceiling hole before buying and choose the finish (white, chrome, nickel) that best suits your decor.
