Orientation and hours of sunlight

A south- or west-facing terrace charges panels better. If the area is shaded, choose models with a separate panel so you can place it in a sunny spot.

IP rating

Look for IP65 on fixtures exposed to rain; in covered areas, IP44 may be enough.
