Led ceiling lights for Kitchens

LED kitchen ceiling lights are the most practical way to get powerful, even general lighting in one of the rooms where you do the most tasks. At GreenIce we bring together round, square and linear surface-mounted models that are easy to install and clean, so cooking, prepping and tidying up are more comfortable and safer.

Types of LED ceiling lights for the kitchen

  • Round and square ceiling lights: from 12 W to 48 W, with outputs from 1,200 to 4,800 lumens, in warm (2700 K), neutral (4000–4200 K) or cool (6000 K) tones.
  • CCT ceiling lights: with adjustable color temperature (for example, 3000–6000 K), perfect for open-plan kitchens where you want both task light and a cozier light.
  • Surface-mounted linear fixtures: from 30 to 150 cm, ideal for long, narrow kitchens or for following the line of the countertop. See our linear LED ceiling lights.
  • IP65 ceiling lights: sealed against dust and water jets, recommended for kitchens heavily exposed to steam or for pantries and laundry rooms.

How to light a kitchen properly

A kitchen needs three layers of light: general ceiling light (this is where ceiling lights come in), task lighting over the countertop and cooktop, and, if you like, decorative lighting. For task lighting, LED strips under the wall cabinets work very well, eliminating the shadows your own body casts while you work.

Center the ceiling light over the work area and, in kitchens larger than 10 m², consider two light points or a long linear fixture to spread the lighting more evenly.

How to choose an LED ceiling light for your kitchen

Lumens by room size

As a guide, a kitchen needs much more light than a bedroom: for 8–10 m², a 24 W ceiling light with around 2,400 lumens is usually enough; in large kitchens, go up to 36–48 W or combine several fixtures.

Color temperature

Neutral light (4000–4200 K) is the most balanced: it renders food colors well without feeling cold. If the kitchen is open to the living room, a CCT model gives you flexibility.

Protection against moisture and grease

A closed diffuser prevents grease from building up inside. If the fixture is near the sink or the steam area, choose an IP44 or IP65 model.

Finish and cleaning

Smooth opal diffusers can be cleaned with a damp cloth and give glare-free light. Browse our full range of kitchen lighting to complete your project.

At GreenIce you get fast shipping, a 3-year warranty on GreenIce products and technical advice to choose the ceiling light that best suits your kitchen.
